Limited availability as primary or secondary supervisor

Professor du Plock is an existential psychotherapist and counselling psychologist, and Senior Research Fellow at the Metanoia Institute, London.  In this role he provides supervision for qualified, mid-career therapists researching an area of their own practice.  He has published and/or supervised in the following areas:

  • Crisis and trauma
  • Clinical supervision
  • Issues of addiction and dependency
  • The therapeutic alliance understood in terms of a relational field
  • Psychosis
  • Reflexivity and the place of the researcher at the heart of the research journey
  • Literature and therapy (his own doctoral research was on bibliotherapy, and he is interested in ways in which all forms of narrative can democratize therapy and, indeed, problematize traditional notions of therapy).
