Emmy van Deurzen: What is Existential Coaching?

Existential Coaching is a philosophical method of coaching that enables people to get clarity about their lives and make decisions about the practical ways in which they may want to change their actions and values.

Emmy will give a presentation on existential coaching and will show why this is a good method to help ordinary people to make important changes in their lives when more psychological interventions are not required.  Coaching allows for philosophical ideas to come into their own and for vigorous discussions to take place in which a person’s position in the world is challenged and new vistas are opened.  Existential coaching may be particularly appropriate in tackling predictable and unpredictable life crises and some examples will be given of such situations and how we might intervene in them.

This talk is open to staff, students and graduates of NSPC (£5 per person) or to interested outsiders (£10). To book a place, please call Sasha Smith or Grace Morgan on 020 73161811 or email admin@nspc.org.uk

The lecture will be followed by an informal staff/student meeting to inform you about the recent changes at NSPC and to celebrate NSPC’s move to its new premises.
